The I Admiral Awards for Spanish Sports already have winners

Admiral Salones de Juego, a brand of leisure establishments of the NOVOMATIC Group, has announced the winners of the I Admiral Awards for Spanish Sports. Divided into six categories, these awards are born with the intention of rewarding the effort and encouraging the careers of our athletes both in the face of the main competitions of their speciality, national or international, as well as in their day today.
In the category of Best Female Athlete, Sandra Sánchez (Karate, Kata) has obtained the most votes. Sandra has a spectacular curriculum with World and European Championships, being World No. 1 and National Sports Award 2018 to the Best Spanish Sportswoman.
Niko Sherazadishvili (Yudo) has been awarded Best Male Athlete. The judoka is the Judo World Champion of 2018 and the bronze medal in the European Championship of 2018, in the category of less than 90 kg.
The youngest has also been recognized in the categories of Best Sub 23 Athlete. In the female gender, Silvia Mas (Vela) has been awarded. But it has been Subchampion of the World in 2018 in Class 470 of the candle. For his part, Jesus Tortosa (Taekwondo) has received recognition as Best Male Athlete Sub 23. The taekwondo is European Runner-up in the category of less than 58 kg and No. 2 in the world.
Backed by an impressive record, Sarai Gascón (Swimming), triple European Champion in 50, 100 free and 100 meters butterfly in 2018 and multiple worlds and Paralympic medalist, has been distinguished as Best Paralympic Athlete. Finally, in the Revelation Sports category, voters have rewarded Paula Ruiz (Swimming), Junior World Champion in open water.
The I Admiral Awards for Spanish Sports have been awarded mainly based on an open popular vote that has won more than 57,000 votes, which represents a great success. The mechanics of the voting established that anyone could choose, for more than a month, between the three finalist athletes selected in each category after registering on the website created for that purpose.
So, after the final count, the winners of the first edition of these awards has been as follows:
- Best Female Athlete: Sandra Sánchez (Karate, Kata)
- Best Male Athlete: Niko Sherazadishvili (Yudo)
- Best Female Athlete Sub 23: Silvia Mas (Vela)
- Best Male Athlete Sub 23: Jesús Tortosa (Taekwondo)
- Best Paralympic Athlete: Sarai Gascón (Swimming)
- Revelation Sportswoman: Paula Ruiz (Open Water Swimming)
The I Admiral Awards for Spanish Sports, which entail an economic endowment, will be presented on February 19 at a gala to be held at the Hard Rock Café in Madrid, starting at 7:00 p.m. In it, the winners will be present in each category, in addition to other athletes, journalists from the sector and other personalities from the business and sports world.
